Hello all,

I recently bought an old mercury minnow boat and I was wondering what kind of trolling motor to get for it. I was going to use it for me and my son to go fishing...I saw on a website about 5lbs thrust for 200 lbs..I way about 250 and my son is probably another 40-50 lbs and I have no clue how much the boat weighs...So I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on this?

Simple answer, get the most powerful one you can afford including battery/s and charger.

55# thrust at the mininmum.
