Installing New Hummingbird

Recommended Posts

I got a Hummingbird 141 C fishfinder for my birthday.  I am going to install it on my pontoon boat and want to know if it's better to put the transducer on the boat itself or put it on one of those portable rods that can be attached (not permanently)  to the pontoon boat.  I guess I'm thinking that since the pontoon may not be my last boat purchase, it would be alot easier to remove the fishfinder if the transducer were not a permanent part of the pontoon.  Thoughts, anyone??
