wanting to up grade my electronics  i have agarmin 240 on front and  a 240 on dash.    i think what i want know is a humininbird 580 c  on the dash it has most of what i want and with the gps can make tracks  plus it will have the speed from gps the 575 goes on front trolling motor  it has a 90% cone  side image of distance of double your depth   right and left side  so if you are in 5'  of water it will show 10' on each side   what do you think   the 580c  is $349.00  the 575 is $249.00

The units have good screen resolution but not Side Imaging. They have side VIEWS, not unlike the vertical view, utilizing a cone shaped beam unlike the beam used with the Side Imaging units. Knowing which side of the transducer shows fish or possible fish holding cover would be an advantage in figuring which direction to make a cast.

The 575 is being discontinued and will no longer be available so you better hurry if you want one.  If you want a new model similar to the 575 you would need to look at the 728 and get a quadrabeam transducer to go with it.
