Secret Fishing Spot: Windermere Pond (Broadlands, VA)

Featured Replies

Off of Croson Ln, there's this community (Windermere) that has a nice pond; go straight for another 100 or so meters and you'll soon enough see the pond.

It has two main parts, but it's split into four. The little ponds at the corner are filled with smallmouths, especially when it's reading. The biggest part (it has a fountain at the middle) has largemouths, smallmouths, bluegill, sunfish and even catfish (I have a buddy that caught a channel catfish there once and I've seen at least 2 there myself).

However, you should go there on a quiet day, not to attract any attention from the neighbors (they aren't the friendliest). If they ask you to leave, politely do so and maybe come back later.

Also, catch and release is a huge must. If you try to bring some with you and someone spots you, it's almost guaranteed you'll receive an earful.

If you live in Broadlands or in Brambleton, give this spot a shot! It won't let you down!
