Help choosing a Garmin unit?

Featured Replies

I currently run only Lowrance on my boat. I want to add Garmin LiveScope.

I am having a hard time figuring out which unit I should buy. I can find any good comparison charts or anything. I will ONLY use this new unit for LiveScope - nothing else.

I want a 12" screen, and it needs to work with polarized sunglasses.

I don't really care if it is touchscreen or not.

The 8 series has a 1920x1080 resolution, but will that make any difference in LiveScope?

I don't want to spend $3,000 on a unit if I can get the same quality picture and everything I need in a $2,000 unit.  At the same time, I don't mind spending $3,000 if it is significantly better than a $2,000 unit for LiveScope.

I would really appreciate any help.

this will help you

Thank you. I had skipped over that video previously because I thought it was all smaller units. But now I see they make a 1222 - which seems to be what I would want.
