2001 javelin venom 17 see water under floor drain

Featured Replies

I recently purchased a 2001 javelin venom 17 I took it out Sunday for about 5 hours and was happy to see no water was in the bilge. Today I was checking the locks and noticed water under the floor drain I tilted the boat up but the water did not go into the bilge is this normal? What can I do to stop this from happening? Are there drain tubes that might be blocked from the hull to the bilge?

That is odd.  Normally floor drains do not have any kind of hose/piping.  The water should just run back to the bilge.  I would take the drain cover off and just get a better look.

How much water are you talking about? like an amount that sloshes around or just some dampness?

I plan on taking it apart today to get a better look but there is visable water I noticed it when I was moving around on deck it's not enough to hear it but enough to catch your eye.

I was told that the water should go to the bilge and out the back but even when I raised the trailer up the water stayed in the hull.

So under closer inspection ive gotta say false alarm the water I saw ended up being a very very small amount I'm guessing from when I drained the cooler bin which only had maybe 2 cups of water in it. I did manage to drop a floor drain screw into the hull paid my little sister to reach in and grab it.
