Carbon fiber TM prop anyone??

Featured Replies

I like it, something different. Just like lures/baits everyone throwing the same thing the fish won't touch it. Might make a stealthier entrance enableing you to get closer.

Do you plan on useing it as a primary prop, or mount it on a TM to troll around. I know you mentioned it as a TM, I have a 35lb thrust that I used on my canoe and it's my primary means of movement.

If you plan on useing it as a primary I would recommened some sort of slam guard (similar to what off road trucks have).

Let me know how it works out.

Indy cars are made of carbon fiber.

Have you seen what happens to an Indy car when it hits the wall?

It disintegrates into a bunch of little pieces.

My best guess is that it would be very durable.  What I've seen in applications at my work is that cf is chip resistant and can be flexed hard w/o breaking.  Wonder what the cost is?

Well, I have to confess... it's an aluminum Machette prop that I painted to look like carbon fiber. I just wanted to see if it looked real to anyone-I guess so. This was just my test piece . I thought it turned out pretty decent.

Looked like the real thing to me, lol.

Haha, I had a feeling it wasn't real. It doesn't have that color that CF has when in the sun.
