Vmc half moon neko weights breaking

Featured Replies

Like the title says anyone have the break while using them? I had 3 break on me yesterday. The only thing I can think of is I didn't super glue them to the worm so they broke off on me.

Broke off or fell out?  Big difference.  Did you lose the bait also?   Did it come back with half a weight or no weight?  One of the dirty little secrets of Neko fishing, from what I can tell, is that if you muscle up and get too aggressive throwing the bait, it is pretty easy to throw it off, and you lose the bait and the weight.

They broke off. The shank of the weight was still in the worm. I thought it might be from bouncing on rocks on the bottom.

Another reason I don’t use nail weight for Neko Rig. I use crappie ball jig head, no glue needed, super cheap. I bend hook point in a little and clip off the eye for line tie.

This is my favorite Neko worm, Zman ZinkerZ which hard to work with any nail weight.

I like that method. I'm going to try that when I run out of the weights.
