Falcon expert rods

Featured Replies

Hey guys, looking for some advice on the falcon expert 7’ heavy rod, it’s listed on tackle warehouse as a fast taper but on falcons website as more of a moderate taper, anyone have experience with this particular rod? I noticed the weight rating is 3/8-1oz so it’s perfect for what I am going to be throwing(t-rigs and finesse jigs) but I’d need to know if it’s a true fast taper and not more of a moderate taper. Any advice would be great, thanks!

They have new ones out this year. Be sure to check with them to see which version you are getting...Im in the market for an Expert as well.

Mine is labeled buzzbait on the blank and it is definitely more moderate than the lizard dragger 1 in the Cara line.   I have used it for 3/8-1/2oz t rig and jigs. It worked good and is very sensitive it if you actually want a fast taper it is not the rod you want.  I am currently using it for buzzbait, spinnerbaits and vibrating jigs.  Would be good for heavy topwater and large squarebills too.

i really like the rod but even with Falcons action ratings it is on the moderate side of mod fast at best.

That is the drag of trying to purchase fishing rods on-line.  You can't touch it and feel it and make an educated guess if you want it or not.   Buying rods on line is a leap of faith.  I ain't a leap of faith atheist, but as far as buying fishing rods sight unseen, I guess I am.   Where does the original poster live?   Nobody near there that is a Falcon dealer?

I use falcon almost exclusively and feel comfortable buying online.  their ratings are way different from other brands so if you’re not a regular falcon user I absolutely recommend trying it out first.
