I am bringing my girlfriend camping near Mount Madison this week and thought we would do some fishing during the day as well (shore casting to be specific).

We have no preference as to what kind of fish we catch (we won't eat them), only that we can relax on land and shore-cast. My questions are:  

1) Does anyone have any recommendations for places near Mount Madison?  

2) If so, what kind of bait would you recommend for the fish there?

Hit the androscoggin River.    I don’t know it well enough to provide specific spots but I’m sure if you do a little research you can get some info. I’d throw spinners,  original rapalas and small plastics.   You can catch anything it that river.
