A small job becomes a bigger job.

Featured Replies

So i dug into my new gator boat the other day, and it looks like there is going to be plenty to keep me busy. The old switch panel was swapped out for a cabela's one. There are some wires just hanging, so I guess I'll have to figure out where they hook up.

Also there are two batteries hooked up as a 24 volt system. Sounds great until you realize that they are running EVERYTHING off of that.  :o Now I'm going to have to buy a new battery and rewire everything up correctly.

Also it looks like the livewells are filled up by gravity with a shut off valve. that means I will have to fill up both livewells at once? Looks like I'll be setting up two pumps, and wiring them up. Also the front livewell doesn't have an aerator.. yay!  :)

OH man, what a list of things to fix. At least the people at pro gator boats are nice, and it looks like i might be able to get a lot of information about this old boat from them. Plenty to keep me busy!

That's the way it usually goes. A small job turns into a major project. Have fun .   Happy fishing.

Try to think out of the box for down the road. When I rewired my boat I pulled extra wires and man I'm glad I did. So think it thru and plan ahead. Take your time and do it right and have fun doing it.

GOOD LUCK
