Bee-Line

Featured Replies

Don't want to bash anyone's product here at all...quite the opposite. But, can anyone tell me something that would prevent me from going out and buying a Bee-Line 286? The things look great and are dirt cheap. Brand new 18 1/2 foot boat with a 93 inch beam and a 150 HP whatever I want for about 20K???!!!!??!!!!!!!?? I've always been a believer in if something sounds too good to be true then it probably is....but dang....thats hard not to at least strongly consider for my next upgrade. What are some of yall's opinions on these boats? good or bad..

Lack of money and common sense could be the only thing keeping you from buying it.

Seriously, these are the old Bumble Bee boats being sold by Phoenix boats. A group of investors bought that company out. The Phoenix hulls are new. The old Bee line is not. The old Bumble Bee's were solid boats that did nothing in particular great except provide reliable service.

The only problem Might be the longevity of the company. Trying to start up a new boat company in this economy will be tough. Your concerns, of course, is the warranty, especially on the hull and who would service it should the company not survive and you have a problem.

I believe that Gary Clouse from Stratos is leading that company now.  He did a lot in getting Stratos back on the map, so maybe he'll get Phoenix to be strong in the market too.  But, longevity is a valid concern.
