FAir Price

Featured Replies

I was browsing that auction site today and ran across a listing for a Daiwa Alphas 103 JDM with upgrades that is in mint condition  Starting bid was $125, I bid $175 and was promptly outbid.  For you Daiwa collectors, what would you consider as a reasonable price?  I'd really like to add this one to my collection as I'd just let a sweet, tricked out TD Sol slip past me and don't currently own an Alpha.

It is really depends on how much you want it. You can not really value discontinued reel especially in mint condition and upgrade parts. For the reel you mentioned,I would pay as much as 150-175, the mint condition in these type reels are really premium, especially for those that collect.

If you don’t wanna pay premium, you will have to wait with eye wild open and ready to jump in. Not long ago we have one sold here only 140?
I was lucky saw one post on sale. I contacted the guy asked a few question and grab it right away. It is not premium mint condition but good enough. I don’t collect reel so condition is not super important.

Purple Alphas? Those seem to be getting rarer and rarer, especially in nice shape. Depending on the upgrades, I'd expect to be in the $200 range on that site where things tend to go a bit higher than the forum markets.

Edit: found reel in question I think. Would not pay $200.
