I just bought a 798si and opened it up , I think I'll be wanting a bigger screen 5 minutes after I mount it. Do any of you have a 797si or 798si feel it would be a real benifit to have the 997si 8" screen over the 5" 798si. If I'm going to go crazy and pay i don't want to do it twice.

I just bought a 798 and put it on last week. I thought it would be too small but I like it. Mine is bow mounted and if you are console mounting yours I would definitely go bigger.

Yes , going on the console.  Did you figure yours out pretty easy.

With SI the wider the screen the better, especially if you plan to split screen it from time to time.  The 798 is about an inch wider than the 797 so it isn't as big a difference from the 997 as the 797.  I did chose a 997, but that was 2 years ago.

I just bought the 798 and still waiting for it to arrive, but I made my decision simply because of money.  I would rather have the 997, simply because in this case bigger is better.

Thanks , I shipped back the 798 today to exchange for the 997. I just knew down the road I was going to be thinking about the bigger screen. This is killing me , I wanted to try it this weekend but im sure it wont be turned around that fast. :'(
