Are you looking at the 40#, 50# or the 70# thrust motor? or Maybe even higher....

Give the readers and ideal of what you are looking at and what type of boat you will be trying to move with it an maybe you will get more replies to your request.  (Not being mean just a suggestion)

I don't have a Minn Kota edge trolling motor nor do I see one in this poor man's future  :(

It will be going on 95 quantum bass boat. I did have a old 40lb minn kota with autopilot on it, i wish i could get one with autopilot again but cant afforded it. was looking on cabelas and they have a 50lb minn kota edge for 350 just seeing if anyone as any thoughts on this one.

I have a 40 lb Edge on my Bass Tracker.  The problem with the Edge trolling motors is that they are five speed motors and the increase in power from "4" to "5" is too great.

It is a solid motor and will last for years, though.

I put the 50# on my boat recently....Like was already mentioned the difference between speeds 4 and 5 was too great ...speed 1 barely moved the boat (aluminum basstracker!), and 2 was not much better....took the motor back...still havent gotten the replacement but will get a motorguide in the next week or two.
