I’ve been looking fore a jig and just a stiffer medium heavy in general I tried a Dobyns 744 and it’s a noodle I looked at a 735 and tbh it feel like what a I thought a 6 would feel like the closest I got to what I want was a 7,3 heavy lews but that was to stiff I like the way the back bone loads up on my champion but I hate how soft the tip is

A 4 power Dobyns is only a noodle if you compare it to other company's versions of Heavy. It really is a MH+.

It’s still soft fore a medium heavy granted I have the jig special and when I compared it to my friends 734 fury his fury was stiffer

I have a Dx 744, it's my primary jig rod, one of my favorite all around rods.  

 

I was just telling @AmmoGuy that Powell is this way with their 4 power rods as well..its really a mag mh.  I love it.  The 744 has a soft tip, loads easy on a 3/8 jig, but once you set the hook in one, you see how powerful that rod is.  I use my 744 in heavy cover i.e. brush, lay downs, heavy hydrilla, milfoil,. Etc.  Dont let that soft "noodle" tip fool you.  But they make that rod in 5 power as well... so go up if it's not your thing.
