Boat Wiring

Featured Replies

I recently bought a small fishing boat.  I need to rework all the wiring.  The boat came with a 24 volt battery and I want to wire al my components (lights/pumps/etc.) through a fuse block.  Any ideas on what guage wiring I should be using?

Really need more info on what you are doing. In general 6gauge for trolling motors and 14gauge for accessories should be fine. Wire size all depends on amp draw and length of wire run. If using a fuse block or switch panel your feeder wire should be 10gauge again depending on amp draw. Hope this is some help to you.

When you say feeder wire...does that mean wire from the fuse block to the switch panel?

Thanks

You have a 24V battery? You certainly don't want to connect any 12V accessories to it.

Must be 12volts only feeder wire will be the wire that feeds the line side of the fuse block or switch panel the side going to your accessory's is the load side. So it will be lets say a 10gauge wire from the + side of the 12volt battery to the line side of the panel or block   Hope this is of help Good luck
