everstart battery question ?

Featured Replies

does anyone know the difference between the regular ever start battery and the ever start maxx trolling batteries i think the warranty is the same ? is the max them maxx because its trolling and starting seems to be about 20 dollar difference in the two is starting the only difference ? thanks for any input

One is a true deep cycle battery and the other is a dual purpose battery.

The duel cycle Starting/trolling has higher CCA but not as much Reverser Cap which gives you less trolling time but has the capability of starting larger Outboard due to Higher CCA

The deep cycle one will give more trolling time, It still has the power to start your motor but it not what it's design to do. I believe this will shorten the life of a true deep cycle battery in the short run.

If you just need a trolling battery get the one that is a true deep cycle. if you need both starting and trolling then get the duel purpose battery, or get both and used them accord to their design.

Just my two cents...

well i went down to wally world today and checked  the everstarts only have a 12 month warranty and the maxxs have an 18 month one is 62 and the other is 79 so i guess its  worth the extra 17 bucks for six months longer warranty thanks for all the help

I use 3 Maxx's on my boat. 1 for starting only, 1 for trolling, 1 for fishfinder, Sirius satellite radio, VHF radio, lights, etc. No problems using them for these purposes.     Happy fishing.
