Please humor me...Is there a place I could get a replacement handle for my reel (can I order directly from Shimano)? I have the new 2020 Caius B with the red handle which I don't like. Are the two compatible? Is there any way I could get an SLX handle (I like the black) for the Caius and would it fit? What about an MGL spool for the Caius? Does one spool fit most in the Shimano world? 

 

I have some ideas for it, Boca Bearing replacements, carbon drag...guys I'm not even sure if you can do any of these upgrades, but could you advise me on how I could upgrade this reel to make it more custom, instead of plain vanilla? Thank you.

You can order from shimano. Type in search reel parts. I've bought a couple handles from shimano and the hardware to go with the reel

I have NUMEROUS handles at home. I am on my way to a funeral in Louisiana and I won't be back till this weekend. If you want to wait, I will see what I have and can make you a deal. I know I have at least one, possible 2 SLX stock handles that I would let go. You can always order them from Shimano though, that is where I get all of mine from.

 

I don't mean for this to sound rude, but when you start replacing knobs, handles, spools, bearings, etc. you might as well have bought a different reel.

I bought a custom carbon fiber for my citica off of Ali Express, numerous ones like this exist on amazon and eBay as well. This one cost about$14.

I might have some extra 7mm acorn nuts to put on that handle if you want one. Once again, I will be out of town for a few days, but I will look when I get home.

Click menu on the left and pick what kind of reel you have, round, low profile, etc. Their reels only goes back 10 years, older models you'll have to figure wlout what would fit.

I just checked, you are right.  I did order a nut or something much less than $35 earlier this year and I was surprised that I did not get a shipping charge.  Thanks for the correction.

Yea, I think shortly after the pandemic started they were doing free shipping on any order. I would hop on and order a couple knobs, or screws, or handle nut, etc. It was super easy to realize you needed something and just order it with the free shipping. Now I have to make a list and be more organized so I can get up to the $35 LOL

Do they fit a 2020 Caius reel? I'm interested. 

Yea, all the handles I have will interchange with all the newer shimano reels. I have even put some of the newer handles on the older reels like the Chronarch 50, Core 100, Citica 200e, etc.

Thank you!!! How about the Spools? Can I order an SLX MGL spool and put it on my Caius? I've heard you can interchange the Spools too, is that accurate?

Thanks friend, I actually found one that fit already, this pic was taken a little while ago, I'm all set but thanks though!

 

All handle should interchangeable between shimano reels only “nut cap” in some model might not fit different handle. Look at Caius handle, you should be able to swap just handle from K or SLX.

Spool is different story, shimano always make some change between model, and hard to tell if it would fit unless try it.

Just MGL spool might cost about the same as your reel.
