Featured Replies

adding a bigger tm and now two tm batteries and an on board charger to go with em anyway i plan to have the batteries in this box on the right with the charger right next to em on the left100_0994.jpg100_0993.jpg do you think this is enough space for the charger its open and has vent holes also the flap will be open while charging what do ya think inside the box 100_0999.jpg100_1001.jpg thanks

It looks like you have enough space to mount the charger.  Those things get hot so you'd want to have good ventilation.  Though it appears you have the 5-5 which doesn't get quite as hot as a higher amp model would.  Ventilation is always a good thing.

I've had a few of those BPS chargers go bad on me over the past few years for heat related issues - the good thing is BPS customer service exchanges it no problem.

If possible use the heaviest gauge wire extension cord you can while charging and keep out of the hot sun when charging.

I'm not an expert in this area but I've heard this from guys who know about this stuff.

Good luck.

You should be fine. I garage my boat and leave the deck open above the charger, When I'm on a trip I just stick a cushion under the deck cover to allow the heat to get out and minimize water entry in case it rains. My Dual Pro is over 15 years old annd still works fine.
