Whats A Fair Price To Have This Installed ??

Featured Replies

I just bought a lowrance hds-7 from bps. I had planned to install it myself but when i saw that it had not only a black and red wire it had a yellow, blue ,orange, green and shield wire also. not understanding all this i figured letting a pro do the install would be the best thing. im just wondering whats a fair price to have this installed? thanks

The red (+) and the black (-) will be the only wires you need to use unless you are networking the unit with another. It is an easy install. All other wires will either be to hook up engine diagnostics to your unit or for the networking. It should explain it in your manuel.

As far as price I cannot help you as I install my own electronics and I'm pretty much a dumba*& when it comes to electric issues. I bet you can do it if you try.

The first one I installed was a side imaging and was all intimidated by it. I figured what the heck and went for it. Needless to say it was much easier than had anticipated. Have no fear, you can do it.

just installed on and it was easy. just read all the instruction a few time to get a good handle on it and unless you have all the other options most of those wire you do not even use.

Yep it's bad. My wife is working in Oklahoma City this week and called me last night to tell me they had reports of 75 mph winds. Ya'll keep it up there, we've had all the wind we need this spring.

Where ever you decide to mount it here are a few tips to help:

Read the instructions at least twice.

Lay it all out on the deck

If through a 1" hole on the console feed the transducer cable through first

Don't mount the ducer permantely until you try it out if it is going on the transom

If on the T/M make sure you leave enough cable so it will not bind as you turn the motor from right to left

Do not attach to the T/m batteries

Keep the wiring as far away from other wiring as possible

If mounting through the floor, use two part epoxy. Stir it easy to keep air bubbles down.

Good luck

Get in an area that you are familiar with and run across it to see what it looks like. Spend all the time you need to get the hang of it.

Glad you decided to tackle the job yourself. Most of these things are not as hard as they seem. Now you can help one of your buddies when they need it.

Congratulations
