Rusty leash on Oakley Split Shot sunglasses

Featured Replies

Hey everyone

I bought a pair of Split Shots about a year ago and the leash has started to show some rust where it touches my head right behind my ears. Has anyone else had this happen? I mean, I sweat like a pig in summer, sure. But I thought these would last a bit longer without looking all dirty. I've tried spraying WD40 on a rag and running the leash through it, and I don't really wanna use anything too harsh considering these spots rest against my skin.

Slight update if any of you run into this issue: contact Oakley. I opened a case with their customer support, uploaded pictures of the leash, and a day later they said it would be replaced under warranty. Sent my sunglasses in (everything: frames, lenses, case, etc.) and I'm now expecting new ones to arrive.

Just wanted to leave this update in case someone else had the same problem, sorry for bringing this post back from the dead ?
