MinnKota TM Repair

Featured Replies

Big wind at the ramp this week and a gust caught my boat as I was backing out of the launch. Before I could react my MinnKota 65# top part swung into a dock piling and pretty much shattered the top plastic housing. No question that I will need to order a new housing.I

I haven't had a chance to start pulling it apart but I wonder how much of a job this is going to be. Any one with experience please comment.

Thanks

look on the net i found various places selling parts that are probably cheaper than the factory :D

If you're mechanically inclined it's not too hard.  The wiring harness has to come apart in the head, IIRC, so does the steering gear assembly.  At that point you can undo the lower head assembly and remove it off the shaft.
