Expride Guide Issue/Question

Featured Replies

I just received a EX172MHA expride. The tube showed up in great shape, so I thought I was good, last couple of tubes arrived broken with damaged rods. Upon inspection of the guides, I found a crack under the bottom guide(first above the handle). I rubbed my finger against it and some epoxy chipped off. Is it nothing to worry about? Should I take it to get repaired at a local tackle shop? Should I fish with it and see what happens or contact Shimano? Any advice/recommendations is appreciated. Photos attached, I hope I sized them correctly.

Honestly from what i can see in the pictures, it shouldn't be an issue.

I usually use clear nail polish to remedy minor epoxy issues.  Cheap and easy fix on guides and wrappings.

I'd call whoever you purchased it from and get a replacement/exchange. If I'm spending $250.00 for anything I wouldn't accept a damaged product/item.
