Motorguide Pro Series 70# -- Help

Featured Replies

Just bought and had a new MG Pro Series 70# thrust TM installed this last week at Bass Pro Shops. Took it out to a local lake this weekend to test it out and try and work some kinks out of it but still have a few questions.

I can not figure out how to adjust the foot pedal to where the trolling motor pulls the boat straight when I have the pedal in the flat or "detent" position, to the right and reverse with the foot pedal back, and to the left with the pedal forward. I looked in the manual but the part about calibrating the foot pedal showed a completely different foot pedal with calibration knobs that dont exist on mine.

Currently, the motor pulls the boat straight with the foot pedal almost all the forward and with it all the way down goes slightly to the right.

Also, didnt take that close of a look ... but was curious how you adjust the foot pedal tension on the new MG Pro Series.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

This is how you adjust the tour series, not sure on the pro series but it should be very simular. You adjust it by rotating the trolling motor shaft in the mount. Loosen the knob holding the upper shaft and spin the shaft until the motor and pedal are where you want them. This must be done with the motor down as if in the water. Be careful especially if you have an external transducer wire running down the shaft as you can pinch the electical cable. Also the motor will drop when you loosen the knob so be ready to catch it or have it supported in some manner.

The trolling motor has two shafts, the top shaft near the head of the trolling motor and a bottom shaft near the motor and prop. The foot control moves the bottom shaft only. The top shaft is held by the mount itself and does not turn during operation but can be adjusted. Hope this makes sense..........Al
