Transom Transducer Mounting Info?

Featured Replies

I need some suggestions if you will on where to mount my transom transducer. I got a new depthfinder than what was on the boat when I got it. I searched through the internet and found some instructions that say to keep it away from turbulent water and what not. Also, they say to mount it on the center line of the hull bottom, with the center line of the transducer. Well I have done that, and I now have a 10ft rooster tail. Anyways, any suggestions on where to mount it would be appreciated? I have a 14.3ft phantom fiberglass bass boat. This is the website I pulled the info off of and I have it mounted like the right picture exactly as the one noted "good" on the right side.

Thanks in advance.

Edit: Although mine is not a v-bottom like the picture, I tried to make it somewhat similar.
