splitshot rig

A Zoom Lizard works great for me.

Is that Varner Gene?

Trickworm on an 2/0 Owner Rig'n hook is the perfect bait and hook for a splitshot rig. It catches numbers as well as big fish. Sometimes in the spring I will fish a lizard on it and in summer through fall I will use a fluke at times but its hard to beat a trickworm.

Stupid question here but I want to clarify what a split shot rig is?  I want to make sure I'm not missing out on something.  I haven't used this setup very often and I think it may be good for me to start using it more often.

Is this where you rig a plastic bait of choice weightless and tag on a split shot weight on the line about 2-3ft from the bait making it a "mini c-rig"?

Thats it.

Here's another question which may seen stupid - I assume one dead sticks this rig - or does one add action to it or all of the above???

Not something I have attempted yet and see it has value. Could you use Senkos?

I work it just like a mini c-rig: drag it.  If theres a current sometimes I like to cast it upstream and let it bounce downstream as well.

yeah senkos would work but my favorite is baby brush hog and lizards ;)

I like to put a Super Fluke on and use it in the grass.

GO BIG RED

I use a small mojo sinker and peg it with a rubber band, this prevents line damage.  Trick worm or Fluke.
