OK so I bought a new boat today 2006 tracker 190 pro and the guy who owned it before put a 24v t/m up front. there is a plug in the front that plugs into a extension chord and i have no idea if it charges the two batterys he put up front. Also how do I charge them with my car charger as they are tied together????? I have no idea what the cord would be for as the charger in the back would of charged the t/m battery while the boat was running right or am i going down the wrong canal

If the plug in the front is a standard AC plug, then all you have to do is plug in your extension cord and the batteries will be recharged by the on-board charger - assuming that the previous owner hasn't removed the charger.

well the only battery the charger is near is the starting battery. I do not think the charger is hooked up at all. The neg wire that should run to the neg battery post is off but the red wire is hooked up. I talked to Nobles MArine and they said they just forgot to hook up the neg wire when they were hooking up the batterys. But up front there is a box in the floor thats has the batterys for the 24v t/m, and a ac plug. I am not sure if it is hooked up or what???? I mean whats the worst that can happen? So I go ahead and hook the neg wire coming off the charger to the neg post wich is on the cranking battery but i am not sure if there are any wires hooked up to the front batterys to charge......

Why accept guesses? Take the boat to where you got it from and let them show you what's right, and what equipment you have on board.

why don't you call the guy you bought it off of and ask him how he had it set up.

How far foward are the two TM batteries?  Are they up near the bow?

If that's the case I'd move them back near the transom (if space permits) and reroute the wires or rewire the entire system.  The last thing you want is all that extra weight up near the bow.   IMOA

It will get on plane better and handle better with that weight near the transom.

Ok sorry this took so long. I already called the dealership they had no clue. I reckon they do not check out the boats that come in on trade. Yes the batterys are mounted up by the bow. I grabbed me a flashlight and looked up in there and low and behold the guy installed another charging system. So I found it guys...

    I think the dealers excuse is lame. I mean they are selling the boat. They should know how it works what is in it. I mean what it the guy accidentally wired the cord to the hull? Who do you think the lawyer will go after?

    A on-board charging system is a pretty big component of a boat. it is like them telling you..well yeah it has a motor but we don't know how to use it. not that it would do any good but I would have a chat with the owner there and respectfully let him know what was going on and how dangerous it is (particularly were liability is concerned) for them to sell a product they know nothing about.

I agree Starr I mean I am glad I have some marbles upstairs and found out where the chord was attached. It could of been a disaster. I need to try and post pics of the new boat on here for you guys..... Can not wait to go fishin.
