road trip though the southern states 5/1/21

my brother and I are doing a road trip from san diego,ca  though texas and the southern states, up to Niagara falls then though the midwest home.

my question is we are looking at toledo bend state park for a couple nights, and was wondering if the shore fishing in that area is possible. i would not be towing my boat , but planning on hiring a guide a few times along the way.

if anyone is out in my neck of the woods, hit me up to fish the so cal lakes. be glad to take ya out for the day.
