Hey all, I'm new here and wanting to get better at bass fishing and learn more about them. I live in western Washington and my question is about forage fish. Specifically, I would like to know more about what the bass target and why. Do bass prefer perch to trout? Bluegill? Sculpin? Crayfish? Are there times you choose one imitation over the other? Are there environmental indications that clue you in?

    on lake washington, when smallies spit up stuff the majority of the time it is perch...
