Expride for medium flippin and pitchin

Featured Replies

I have the Expride 7-3 XH for frogs and it pitches ok but it doesn't have much tip for loading smaller baits. What model would you recommend? Something very similiar to the 7-3 XH with a slightly lighter tip but similiar guts would be ideal. 7-6 XH?

The 7'2 H

I have the 7'2 MH. I would never flip with it. Is the heavy really that much stouter? I'm not trying to do heavy punching, but I do fish grass lakes.

It’s going to depend on the lure size and cover you are fishing.  I have 2 primary jig rods...1 MH/XF (NRX 893) and 1 H/F (Steez).  I use the 893 for lighter jigs and t-rigs in lighter cover.  For heavier cover or heavier jigs, I use the Steez.  A MH will work fine in the right conditions.

I threw frogs on the 7'2 H last year in some super thick stuff and it was plenty stout.

Given that you mentioned medium cover, I would think the heavy would be fine and would be less of a broomstick, thus a little more versatile.

72 or 75 heavy. unless your in very thick grass or really heavy wood they should work fine. i use both.
