8’ Bass Hunter

Featured Replies

So, I bought a little bass boat a few days ago and I have to register it for the places I am able to fish around my home town, but the problem is I don’t know how old it is and there is absolutely nothing on the boat to tell me. Think I can get some help from y’all? It’d be awesome if y’all can help me out

Is that the one man version?  I have one that I never registered.  I still have the paperwork stashed in my garage office.  The problem is I'm moving and there is a pile in the doorway so I can't get in there.  I fished it once and to be honest I was a bit disappointed as the front dove under water when I kneeled there.  The boat is in Oregon along with my later version 10'.

The boat is at least 10 years old I'm thinking.  Do you have one or two seats?

Guitarfish, it didn’t come with any seats nor does it have anywhere to put them

It didn’t come with any nor does it have the railing part for seats. I was just told to use 5 gal buckets

Does it have a HIN (hull id number) on it anywhere?

No it does not. I’m guessing it was painted over too many times or wore off

the id number should be on the right pontoon in the rear. as far as seats measure the floor and get a piece of plywood and water treat it and bolt a pedestal mount to it and go from there.

I still haven’t seen the ID number and I’ve looked all over the boat.  I’ll give the seats a shot. Thanks for the idea man

I found the hin. It was up under the lip where the fiberglass pieces meet. Thanks for the help

The HIN should tell you the year.  I just went through something similar.  I bought a Pelican Bass Raider off a guy who bought it at a garage sale.  I was concerned that I would have trouble registering it, but I had no problems.  I just had to fill out the regular paperwork and also a statement of ownership. The guy I bought it from also filled out a statement of ownership, and I breezed through the DMV.

Glad you were able to find it.
