Advice wanted on new 2020 metanium

Featured Replies

Hello everyone this is my first post, but I’ve been using the information on this forum for a long time and have always enjoyed the helpful information! I’m posting because I just received in the mail a new jdm metanium mgl, this also is my first bait caster and am by no means familiar with this type of reel. I have just taken it out of the box and am super impressed

except for one thing, when reeling with no line, it seems to be making a slight clack or clicking sound, but when I remove the spool the sound goes away, or if I put my thumb just slightly on the spool the sound goes away. Is this normal? When I get line on it will this go away? Reel feels super smooth. Sorry if this is a stupid question! I just had nobody to ask there opinion and thought I would try here! Thanks!

Also, make sure your spool only has a little side to side play. If it is too loose, tighten the cast control knob.  A loose spool will also make a clacking noise.
