Digital maximizer "add on" to trolling motor?

Featured Replies

Gang,

I have a "regular" trolling motor which does a fine job except I typically run out of juice before I run out of daylight.  I'd rather not lug around an extra battery so was thinking of adding a maximizer to increase my trolling motors efficiency.  Is this even feasible?  Do they make an aftermarket "maximizer" or are they strictly an integral part of a trolling motor?  Would it be prohibitively expensive?

There used to be an add-on digital speed control available but I have not seen any or head of any that were available in the past few years. Several models and mfg have that technology built in.
