Lakemaster vs Navionics

Featured Replies

I've got a Humminbird 997 C NVB and I want to update my unit with a new 2010 chip. I'm looking at The 2010 Lakemaster/Humminbird Digital Chart Series Pro Map Wisconsin or the 2010 Navionics Hotmaps Platinum Wisconsin. I'm looking for any input on the difference between Navionics and Lakemaster. If you were buying a chip, which one would you choose and why? Thanks for the info.

Although Navionics is the industry leader, they are very poor when it comes to the areas in the upper end of the lakes and back end of the bays. It is just blank. FHSP does a better job in these areas. Depending on what area of the lake I am fishing I will install either. I cannot speak about the coverage in the East, Southeast, or the West. I fish the south chip (2008). The coverage may be better in these areas or with the later versions of the chips. I have just purchased a 2010 Navionics South chip, but have not had it on the water.

I run these chips in a LMS480M and a LGC522c/IGPS

Main lake: Navionics

Creeks: FHSP

Bays: FHSP
