The less pressure lake/pond/reservoir around San Jose

Hi there,

Could you share your knowledge/experiences regarding the relatively low pressure fishing spot?

I've never caught any basses in San Jose despite of 8 times trials

in Uvas, Los Gatos Creek, Lexington, Vasona, Guadalupe, etc.
Everywhere, everyone says "Here basses are picky".

One guy told me that catching 1 bass through 10 times fishing is still lucky...

It may be hard to differentiate one from another, but I would appreciate you if you share your thoughts/experiences.

Thanks in advance.

I'm not familiar with the San Jose area. I would drive to the Delta. I know it's a drive but, it's worth it.

There is a guy on youtube that fishes your area. Look for a channel called Central Coast Bass

San Jose area is very tough. Especially now that the creeks are dry (Coyote Creek was my fav for numbers).

Uvas, Chesbro, Calero, all very tough and very very low. I haven't even bothered since the creeks dried. I've caught at a few of them, but it's like playing roulette. Odds are bad and you can't find a pattern when the water is so low, especially from shore.

Guadalupe and Almaden Reservoir (not lake) are probably good but you can't park near them. No parking anywhere on that road. Figures right? Stupid Bay Area BS. My idea one day is to get dropped off by an Uber and do those lakes.

Delta is pretty close and a great fishery. It's likely to be my new go to spot. I used to be able to drive ten minutes and catch bass at the creek. Oh well. Can also try surf fishing the coast.

If you are a serious angler move away from the Bay Area. I'm going to.

Los gatos creek still has some water and some small bass in it around the percolation ponds. The ponds have some good ones in there but they are nearly impossible to catch.

The percolation ponds in Campbell/Los Gatos near HW17?  If so, which one of them tends to yield best results?

I'm going to try Calero tomorrow in my kayak. Sunday but what the heck. Drove by today and water isn't thaaaaaat low I guess. And there was nobody fishing the areas I will hit, at least as far as I could see.

It's 8 bucks to launch. It's one of two lakes in the entire area where I can launch. We'll see how that goes. Not in the mood to drive to the Delta lately, and I'm waiting for the tides to be more agreeable with my schedule :)
