Please Help with Trim/Tilt Motor

Featured Replies

I am no electrician, and the guy who owned my boat before me was def. not. He told me he "rewired" the boat to install a cd player/radio and he made a complete mess of things using black wire for every connection. I had to replace a solenoid last fall and in doing so most of the wiring fell apart. The boat is a 1986 Nitro with a 150 Mercury Black Max motor. So I have since removed the radio/speakers and wiring and I've come to the conclusion that the trim tilt pump is a giant confusion. What I know is green is down and blue is up. I've attached some pics of what I'm working with... What I don't get is the three prong plug that I've shown with a red arrow, it has 2 blues and 1 green wire that go to.. where? and a random brown wire that seems to go nowhere in the 2nd pic. I have toggles for the trim on the front deck, throttle, and on the back. Any / All help and direction will be helpful! Thanks!

I have the exact trim set up on my boat. If you will give me a little time for the weather to break(May be tommorrow) I will look at mine and let you know where each wire should go. it's raining and sleeting here and the boat is covered. supposed to be better Wednesday. If you can wait I will try to get you some help.

I am running a skeeter, i have the factory wiring diagram under one of the rear deck lids on my boat. not sure how far off it is with the nitro, but we should be able to trace a few things down.
