6th sense rods? Any feedback/comparison

Featured Replies

Was pretty set on getting a Tatula rod but started looking around and 6th sense rods have been looking pretty snazzy and have rods with specs I'd like. Cant hardly find any feedback on their ESP line and started eyeing their new Team6 rods. With 10% off even the Sensory is something I'd be willing to put some money into and try out.

Any users here with some experience and comparisons? Rod will be used for finesse jigs, 3/8oz jigs, shaky head and lighter T-rigs so sensitivity and tip behavior are what I'm particularly interested in.

I've heard almost nothing about these sticks. While I trust 6th Sense on baits, it's a different animal to make rods. I suggest buying one and letting us all know how it works!

Looks like I might have to!  Crazy how a brand that makes such good lures hasn't attracted enough people to try their rods.

I’ve been tempted to try midrange gear from some of the smaller companies. I own a Zodias, Victory, and Rebellion so I feel like I can judge midrange gear to a certain degree.

Maybe with the holiday sales I can try 6th Sense, Witch Doctor, and Legit Design.

Ive been looking into getting a Rebellion but there isnt nearly as many reviews on them as the other 2.

How do you like the Rebellion?  How does it compare to the Victory and Zodias sensitivity, weight and action wise?

I have the 7’2 MH/MF ESP that I throw my tube jigs on for smallies and I also have the 6’9 M/MF Lux that I throw my jerkbaits on. I need to preface that I just started bass fishing last year and only have experience using these 2 rods from this season. So, I don’t have the ability to compare them w/ anything else than a couple of Lew’s combos that I started w/.

^ That being said, I’ve liked both of them. However, I’m actually going to be selling all 4 of my current combos at the end of the season to consolidate and upgrade to 1 high-end setup that will be versatile and allow me to throw all of my presentations w/.

FWIW, there are some YouTube videos out there that showcase some of their rods, although they’re made by their sponsored guys and more about hyping them up than doing actual reviews.

The Rebellion is a serious value proposition. The balance and weight are both excellent for the price and they punch above their weight in sensitivity.

I’ve fished the 7’3 MH but moved on from it. It wasn’t a bad stick, I just constantly shuffle the MH do it all spot in my lineup. The 7’4 heavy glass though is the real deal. I’ve recently upgraded my DD and chatter stick to a BLX but I can’t bring myself to sell the Rebellion. It fishes like a $300+ rod.

Aesthetically the Rebellion looks and feels premium. it’s not flashy but gives off a very subtle JDM vibe. It’s much more like my Megabass sticks than I expected in that regard.

Comparing it to the 2020 Zodias the Rebellion wins. Shimano not upgrading the blank or guides on the Zodias was a sloppy move. The handle is neat, but not a game changer. I sold the one I had and just keep using my 2015 for bank duty.

The Victory comparison is a bit harder. I honestly really love all of my St. Croixs, and their customer service is top notch. Action, weight and power on the victory are great at less than $250.

Well see how this goes.  I know there is more to a rod than the ton graphite but 30ton is pretty poor in my opinion for the price point. Id expect at least mid 30s if not 40 for a $200 team6.

Going to wait for black Friday and see if I can snag a Expride for similar cost first. Or maybe I'll really say screw it and dip my feet into building my own.

Graphite rating in tons means little to nothing.

Not only that, but design means a heck of a lot more than anything else. If it didn't, no one could use fiberglass rods.         jj
