New member...Bass Radier 10E suggestions....

Featured Replies

Howdy all!  I own a Bass Raider 10 E as of last August and am looking for help on wiring it up.  I fished several times last year from it by myself and was very pleased with it!

I have the following I am needing to wire up and need help with the best way to do it:

Deep cycle battery

Minn Kota 55lbs transom trolling motor

Humminbird Piranhamax 170

I am eventually going to add some lights for night fishing on streams off the Ohio river...but not anytime this year.

I was looking to also get the minnkota 60amp fuse...but heard I don't need it.

What is the right way to wire this thing up?  I am good with electrial work....just know nothing about boats.

Thanks!

I just used the Bass Raider 10E's pre-wired outlet for my TM.  Ran separate wiring for FF to avoid distortion.  As for nav lights, I used the portable LED bow & aft nav from Cabelas that clamps onto the hull.  LED's are very bright and runs on AAA batteries.  If you haven't already done so, loosen the screw under the TM head and turn it around so you can use the TM on your bow rather than your transom.  That way you can utilize the TM outlet and fish upfront.  IMO, it's easier to fish and control/steer your boat with the TM pulling it.

Thanks buddy!  I was thinking of doing that w/ the trolling motor, great info!

As for the FF, better to run it off its own battery or as long as it is run off separate wiring hence....battery to 60amp breaker then from breaker have two connections....one going to the TM and the other to the FF with an inline fuse correct?

Well I finally got it figured out after 6 hours of wiring...running around the tri-state area....going to Cabelas...then bam, got it up and running....its looks like a wiring hell, but it will work!

Ran the battery from the middle of the boat for better stability.

Battery to a 60amp MinnKota breaker.

From breaker to trolling motor.

Also ran power cable to battery for FF w/ a switchable toggle to use a secondary battery in the future for a longer day of fishing.

Anyway...not i need to make a small wiring box at the transom to hide all the extra wiring!  LOL
