Fishing saves thanksgiving

So my mom hosted Thanksgiving today. Overall it was a good day, but I was a little worried. My sister and brother in law chose to do Thanksgiving with my brother in laws family, and my mom tends to follow many really out there conspiracy theories and usually when they leave it's time to high tail it out of there before things go south as she is very vocal about it and shoves that stuff down my throat quite aggressively and if I say anything gets really mad, which needless to say can be rather unpleasant. So without my sister and her side of the family there, I was a little concerned.

I have been dealing with acid reflux all week and it hit me pretty early today, so I went and sat on the couch after cleaning up. So everyone came over into the living room and she was looking for nice scenery to put on in the TV, so I showed her a couple of places on my to do list and then drone videos of some of the lakes that I fish regularly. Then I showed her some of Kristine Fischer's videos (there was one I was looking for where she was going under trees, eventually I found it) but she was pretty fascinated by the fishing videos and I was able to explain a lot of what she is doing.

So in a way, fishing saved Thanskgiving :)
