I was given a job boat and a 4hp Mariner 2 stroke outboard. I gave the boat back to my mom and step dad and my buddy told me to keep the motor and sell it. So I need help with specs and what not. Here is what I know. 

 

He said it is a 1986 or 1988 Mariner 2 stroke 4 hp outboard. It ran last year and is in overall good shape. Included are two pictures of the data plate and motor itself. Can anyone tell me a year off the data plate? Whats the value of this and what should I ask for it?

Did a search one the internet and knowing Mercury uses it's SN in a lot of cases to identify model year.  Mariner was nothing but the saltwater model of a Mercury.
