Strike King Rage Bug 4”

Featured Replies

This plastic bait comes out of the package with the tail flippers joined together and side flippers joined to the sides of the body. I’m wondering if these should be left joined together or whether it is best to take a pair of scissors and cut them loose so there will be more action when the bait falls through the water? Thanks for any help.

Most all of Rage Products have the tabs to keep them straight when packaged.

Just pull the tabs apart no need to use scissors.

Thank you. I'll leave the scissors at home.

I’m not gonna lie. I wondered the same thing the very first time I bought I pack of those and I pulled them apart. However, I have caught fish on both pulled and unpulled so it doesn’t really matter.

I almost always break the bit of plastic, gives it more action.

Occasionally (and I mean very occasionally) they want it attached, could have something to do with the lessened action when everything is attached.

But I would say 90% of the time spilt the flappers and legs off. You can always put a new one on with the flappers and legs attached and the save original for another day.
