Tatula 7'1 MH XF questions

Featured Replies

Hi guys. Does anyone have this particular Tatula rod (7'1 MH XF) that can share their experience with it? Is it a soft or stiff extra fast tip? Any techniques that it excels at?

I currently use a Dobyns Champ XP 734C that I use for pretty much everything that I fish, mostly t-rig plastics and swimming/dragging jigs and on occasion spinnerbaits and bladed jigs. Everything I fish is between 1/4 - 1/2oz.  Would the MH extra fast Tatula be a better jig rod than the 734? Anyone know if these Tatulas are as sensitive as the Champ XP?

I have original one (Eva not cork). It is one of my favorite all around MH bottom contact and slow moving bait. I used this for 1/4-3/8 Texas rig, weightless Fatika, or even dark sleeper. Anything that requires a little bit more hook set at long distance. It is great rod, light and exceptional sensitive, better? I’m not sure.

I don’t really use this rod to drag 3/8 and up jig. I feel the tip is a little bit soft and loaded too easily.
