anybody got any good ideas for a replacement of the rubber cap on these switchs hate to have to keep buying new switch for such a little part?

Bottle cap?  It might be a little big though.  Or maybe one of those little rubber caps that are sometimes found on the foot of a chair or table with metal tubing for legs.

The problem is getting the exact degree of elasticity on the side walls of the cap-too much and it doesn't have enough "spring" to it and it engages the button. I would love to hear a solution as I go through about 5 of these a year. These things are crud compared to a couple years ago.

How about this, take the torn piece, put it on the button, then put a thin layer of Shoe Goo on top of that with some of it attaching the top to the sides.

If you buy a new switch, put a thin layer of the Shoe Goo on it before you use it.
