Prop box?

Featured Replies

I would like to rig up a prop storage box in my rear compartment for my spare prop.  After having the experience of "spinning" a prop on tournament day I do not ever want to be without a spare.  However, I don't want to loose space in my other storage compartments.

I was hoping there was something out there I could mount right next to the starting battery as there is plenty of room.  A 12V battery box isn't quite large enough or I'd use that.

Is there anything like that available out there or has anyone rigged up their own to secure/store an extra prop in the rear compartment?

Thanks :o

Go get you one of the after market spare tire holders for the trailer. the one with the all thread bolt and the big wing nut. drill a hole in each end of the wing nut and mount it to the floor. Screw the bolt into the mounted wing nut, slide the prop down over the bolt and use another wing nut to tighten it up.

Or you can go purchase one of the mounts from one of the boat dealers and mount it up. Works the same way but will cost you a lot more.

Cool trick FFD! I never thought of that.

Thanks!!! :o

We've done it before. Get a piece of rubber, heck we cut it out of an old inner tube and lay it on the floor. that will keep the shoulder on the prop from damaging the flooring. Make sure you run the all thread through the wing nut all the way to the floor. It will kept it from rocking and creates a better, stronger fit.

Good luck, let me know if you run into a problem.

you don't happen to have a pic of this do you?
