Finally...senko success!

Featured Replies

Well, I've been fishing plastics this summer with very little success (I'm not sure I was actually fishing them correctly). The best I could do was catch a sunfish on a power craw. I've had excellent luck with Rapalla crankbaits, so I've been fishing them a lot.

This weekend I bought Gary Yamamoto's 4 inch green pumpkin with black flake senkos instead of Powerbait or Gulp. I had been practiced my technique, and rigged it texas style and weightless.

We were fishing a large smallie pond in NH and nothing was biting anything....I threw on a new senko....

YAHOO!! I've never seen fish go so crazy for one particular bait when NOTHING else was working. I must have caught 5 decent size smallmouth in the matter of a half hour, and it just kept ripping. It got to the point where I actually started pleading with my buddy to "please put on one of my senkos!" When he finally did, he started catching fish.

I'm now SOLD on senko! I'm suprised at what a huge differance between plastics there is. I cannot see it, but the fish obviously can!

Here is a pic of one of the smaller smallies:

There is nothing more exciting than to see your Senko line start moving when a bass picks it up and you get ready to set the hook.

Then you set the hook very hard and hold on for a good fight.

Even when smaller bass, crappie and bream pick up the Senko and start to move with it is exciting.

Try fishing the Senko "wacky" rigged and you will continue to have a lot of fun with this bait.

I agree. I fish all my senko style baits wacky rigged with a circle hook and its just awesome. The fish basically hook themselves so you don't need a huge hook set and the action at both of the tips of the senko bait just excites the fish. I hardly ever T-rig my senko style baits.

Oh yeah.......one more word to the wise. If you like Senkos. Don't waste your money on them.

Order from Brent at *.com

The Senko and his trick sticks weigh pretty much the same. I can't tell the difference by just holding them in my hand. Also I think Brent has a better scent on his along with the salt. Best of all???? The price. Go check them out and if you order from him, give him your Bassresource name and you will help the site out along with getting some "extras" in your order. Never again will I buy senkos. You save a ton with *.com and they have some great colors.
