Shabonna Motor Restriction Lifted?

Featured Replies

I read somewhere that the HP limit was removed and any size outboard is now allowed use as long as the operator adheres to the no wake policy.  Is this true?  I'd love to get back on that lake as my new boat's trolling motor can drain my batteries on a windy day there and I hate being stranded on the water, or interrupting someone's day by asking for a tow.

Here's a link to idnr. You'd have to call to confirm but it says the whole lake is no wake v the previous 10 hp limit statement.

I found out this year, but yes, they removed the 10hp limit and made the whole lake no wake. You can run any size motor there. You can also run the big motor within 200 feet of the launch for loading and unloading. I'll be heading out there soonish. Last I heard that the docks are going in (1 is already) and water temps are high 30s.
