You ever use micro finesse jigs and plastics for pressured or spooky smallmouth or in ultra clear water like 1-2” panfish/crappie neds/plastics?

I picked up some of Z-Man’s new micro finesse TRDs for my creek setup and started wondering if they wouldn’t also be effective for finicky river fish as well?

They always say downsize or use translucent in low, clear conditions, you think these might be effective?

I use the tiny Keitech mono spin jigs a lot  when bank fishing in very pressured areas. Quite often I will follow people that just left after catching nothing, and these little jigs will start producing almost immediately. I generally use some kind of craw as a trailer on these jigs, like a Eurotackle Metacraw 1.8” or Mule Fishing Burro bug. I’ve caught a ton of both Largemouth and Smallmouth on these little jigs, and it’s actually rare that I head out for a day of fishing now without having one of these rigged and ready to go.

That’s my thinking, downsizing always produces

Small grubs and jigs always produce fish.

I use the 1/16 keitech mono jig with a 3" bubbling shaker or 2" twin tail.  Works great during the coldest weeks of the winter and when the fish get a ton of pressure.  The only drawback to jigs that light is the short casting distance.

Yeah and getting it down

Thats why I like the bubbling shaker, it doesnt have a swimming tail and doesnt create as much drag in the air or water as other trailers.  I completely remove the inner layer on the lower skirt and thin the collar out, to try to get rid of some wind resistance.  I think it gives me a couple more feet.
