Megabass Destroyer P5 Bait Finesse and Megabass Destroyer P5 Wind Buster: Info About These Rods

Featured Replies

Hello, I just had some questions about these two P5 rods. For anyone who has either of them, what would you say is the ACTUAL lure weight range in which each of these rods excels (if you could please say the total weight, i.e., bait + hook/weight).

I plan on using the BF for all around finesse plastics and finesse jigs, and the WB for drop-shot/free rig/small jerks and small cranks/light topwater.

Lastly, I do everything other than punching, throwing large swimbaits or glide baits, and heavy top-water (mainly finesse plastics, fb/compact/finesse jigs and other bottom-contact like drop-shot and T-rig). Will these 2 rods, plus a Tachyon Shaft cover all those techniques?

Thank you in advance. I appreciate any and all of your information.

The baitfinesse will dropshot. I've throw 1/4oz poppers on it too, including some wacky zman big trd with a nail weight not sure if thats under 1/4 but it slings them with my aldebaran bfs. The windbuster is a medium so you would be okay with a dropshot on that too. On the MB chart it's blue which says fast moving aggressive but it can do more. I threw weightless senko and shakeyhead on mine. I dont even use it anymore. If you're looking for a windbuster I'll sell you mine. It's barely used too.  I've seen guys free rig on the Baitfinesse too. I have the expride 168MH-S from JP and Shimano mentions free rigs in its description and its done those well. Has the taftec tip. Not really sure on lure ratings I haven't really pushed both. Hope I was able to help some.

Yep, this is helpful for sure. Also, how much for you to let that Wind Buster go? And although I’m sure it has no functionality issues, does it have any aesthetic issues at all?

Thank you again for the response sir, it was great information.
