Well anyway..i mthinking of ordering some more rods, maybe 1 more spinning and about 2-3 more baitcasting before the year is out? what am i missing here guys...how many more rods do i need to have everything covered?  ;D Thanks-WM

Figure out what lure your good at fishing with and then buy the type of rod you think will help your favorite lure presentation.I use baitcaster outfits for everything except worm fishing.I use a 6' spinning rod, not because of light line, or light lure presentation.IMO, the spinning outfit seems to allow the worm to fall straight down through the water colum where a baitcaster doesn't allow the lure to do so, it always tends to pendulum back towards you slightly instead of fallig towards the intended target. For most purposes, it wouldn't matter much, but I beleive it catches more fish on days they are tight to cover, or they are out on isolated, or sparse weed patches.I am not always correct though. ;)Ivan

If you're serious, 7'6" heavy for swimbaits.

Personally, I think you already have more than enough.  It's not the car, it's the driver.

I think it makes a difference what type of boat you're fishing from and you're physical makeup as to rod type/size.  At just under 5'10", a full-size flippin' stik (7'6") is somewhat clumsy for me so I opt for a 7' rod.

Like Castaway, I use a spinning rod for most worming, but I use a 6'6" AllStar MS3TN.  For finesse type fishing I also stick with spinning, using an AllStar MS2TN.  I also carry a 6' Castaway for tossing small CB's.

For regular crankbait duties, I have a 7' Browning David Fritts, and a Team Daiwa Clunn model.  For those really deep diggers, I use a Berkley Bionix MH action, again 7'.  All these are spooled with 10lb super silver thread line.

For C-rigging, I use the Falcon "Lizard Dragger" , and have another just like it rigged for jig fishing.

These aren't even all the rods I tote around in the lockers.  Not trying to brag on what I have.  Frankly I'd be just happy if I could pare all these down to a half dozen or so, but I like to be able to switch gears and go from one technique to another without having to stop/cut/retie.  I like Castaway's suggestion about deciding on what you're favorite style of fishing is and get a good rod to compliment that particular style.

I'm assuming the M/L outfit is spinning. You're on the right track getting a new rod for that.

Is the 6'6" St. Croix with no reel a baitcaster? If it is that would make a good crankin rod.

The 6'6" Shimano spin would be good for tubes, small worms, that sort of thing.

You're on the right track with the 6'6" Extreme.

You didn't say what action the 7'Quantum rod is.

6'6" MH no-brand rod could be used as a spinnerbait rod.

Without knowing all the actions, the waters you fish it's hard to say what you need to round things out.

Yess Cart i bought that 6"6 St.Croix premeir for Mostly cranking but some worming maybe also.

The action on the 7"0 is Medium ..Lure Weight 1/8-1/2

I fish mostly small 100 acre lakes in South Jersey, Our biggest Southjersey lake is Union Lake maxing out at about 900 acres. This is where i will be starting most of my small club tourneys next year. Thaks w-m

It seems like you're pretty covered.  If you're into carolina riggin you could make do with one of the mh rods for that purpose. Otherwise I'd suggest a 7' Hvy action rod that could double for c-rigging and flippin.  I'm one that still likes to throw pistol grips so I'd have to add a couple for tossing spinnerbaits, topwaters and close in crankbaits.

Trust me, nobody loves buying fishing tackle more than I do.

Consider this.  Right now you are pretty well covered.  so instead of buying more rods and reels, because it's fun. (Lord knows it is)  Why not begin to upgrade the quality of your rods?  There is no single item you can buy that will increase your fishing enjoyment more than a high end rod.

The avid series of St. Croix is a good starting point, but I would go right to the Tournament bass series as the starting point.  They are absolutely the best value in high end rods being built today.

G. Loomis is the standard by which all other high end rods are measured.  the IMX is the series that made them famous.

There are other fine rod builders out there, but the customer service at St Croix and Loomis is unsurpassed.  Each has a lifetime warranty and trust me they will replace a that you broke through stupidity not manufacturing defect (I have some experience with this  :-/)

They may not be as flashy or ultra light as say a Kistler magnesium split grip, but his warranty is and customer service do not compare.
